Luminous Vines invites visitors to reach out and make contact. Suspended strands of light respond to touch and movement: a gentle pull or shake sends a pulse of color traveling along a vine. When several people interact at once, their pulses move through the installation together, sometimes meeting in bright bursts.

The work makes a direct connection between physical gesture and light. Visitors can feel the flexible vines in their hands, see the immediate result of their movement, and discover how their actions affect the larger installation.
